This accessibility statement applies to crownpaints.com and is run by Crown Paints Ltd.
At Crown Paints we want everyone to be able to use our website and to have a positive experience, and have put in place support services to enable this.
What we are doing?
Crown Paints is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and we have focused on areas such as structure, keyboard navigation screen readers and magnification.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA) and we are targeting Level AA compliance for our website.
Our Progress so far
This website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
Currently this website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. We’re working hard to complete the final areas that need improving.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non Compliance:
· Product card short description, some CMS blocks and paint colour overlay descriptions fall be the required contrast ratio of 4.5:1
· CMS, background and navigation images missing image “alt” text attributes
· Product carousels have hidden content affecting screen reader users
· Unlabelled product carousel areas are difficult for screen readers
· Product images classed as empty links require aria-label attribute
· Non-interactive tab index on some product carousel images affects keyboard users
· Empty basket continue shopping link has no label, affects reader users
· Empty links in menu images affects screen reader users
· Ambiguous links on contact forms affects screen reader users
· Accordion script within forms requires easier keyboard navigation
· Stockist search requires keyboard navigation functionality
· Breadcrumb navigation requires improvement for screen reader users
· SVG images can be misinterpreted by screen readers
Exemptions:
· Imagery that is purely decorative will not have alt text added to it.
